With a short but colorful history, Negril is an unspoiled, beautiful destination whose beaches curve for seven miles along Jamaica's West coast.
Nature created a paradise here, with white sand beaches, an impressive headland known as West End, and cliffs that are dotted with ancient caves.
This lush area once was a shipping and pirate commune. Today Negril features fine resorts, and numerous small inns and villas. But don't expect to see giant-sized hotels. Local law states limits all structures to a heighth not to exceed the highest palm tree.
