A few years back, (about 10,000 or so) a group of Muskogee American Indians in the south were tired after a long day of hunting and gathering. They looked around, liked what they saw and said, (in their language, of course) "Here we rest." Well, the name stuck. Welcome to Alabama. All 51,000 square miles of it.
It's a great place to live and visit, from the mountains to the sea.
