You head to the beach for a swim and find that the sand there is red. You sit down to dinner and the huge lobster set before you is cold. All you’ve done is cross the Northumberland Strait (driving over a spectacular eight-mile-long bridge, we might add), but you can see immediately that things are different here on Prince Edward Island. The beach and the lobster? They’re only the beginning, as you find out just how different things are here. But relax: it’s all good. You’re on the Island, or what the locals call “PEI.”
