About 1,000 miles southeast of Miami, Puerto Rico lies between Hispaniola and the British Virgin Islands, and is the easternmost - and smallest - of the four major islands of the Greater Antilles. The other three are Cuba, Jamaica and Hispaniola (the latter is home to two nations, Haiti and the Dominican Republic).
