Occupying the largest area on the South-East Asian peninsula, Myanmar (formerly Burma) is one of the most pleasant places created by Mother Nature. With a population of over 47 million people belonging to 135 national races, Myanmar is far from the easiest or most comfortable country in Asia to visit, but well recognised as the land with its ancient palace, city walls, terraces, glittering golden pagodas and teeming white-washed stupas.
